at a corner

jtownsf jtownsf1 jtownsf4I picked up this jacket for about $10 at a thrift store and it’s always my go-to whenever I want to throw on something light.  My mom says it would have been prettier in an army green color but I’m pretty satisfied with this boring brown color too.  I love the idea of it being this dusty boring brown thing that I just grab for errands or whatever else.  It’s probably spawned from my ghetto habit of wearing the same things over and over again on those days when I rarely ever leave the house for anything besides simple errands and late night burritos.

the shirtdress

shirtdress4 shirtdress1 shirtdressTaking inspiration from the borrowed boyfriend shirt. Basically found a huge oversized button up and belted it to make it into a shirt dress. Add some serious high heeled booties, and this is the most simple but alluring outfit. Might want to wear some cute silk shorts underneath if you don’t want to feel so exposed. 😀

spring trench

burberry12 burberry4 burberry8Found the perfect lightweight trench for spring, and it’s black.  Best trench ever.  I can’t stop admiring the studded detail around the wrist and how the cut just falls long enough to perfectly cover my shorts.  I think the shorter length of this (and of course the black color) makes it the perfect throw on piece to wear over anything.  And not to mention how black ankle boots may just be its soul mate.

the layered white shirt

borrowed borrowed1 borrowed4 borrowed3Lately, I’ve been infatuated with the bustier over white shirt look.  I’ve always been partial to it but could never find the perfect lace or leather bustier.  I might not be looking hard enough since I keep seeing great versions all over Instagram.  Since I haven’t quite found the one for me yet, I switched things up a bit and layered the white shirt with a bustier dress instead.

P.S. How gorgeous are these heels?  My sister recently went on a shoe binge and these are the results.  I had to steal them for a bit.  Can’t resist such gorgeous things!

the simple things

I’ve had these black jeans for years and it seemed like our time together was nearing an end but I had this idea to fray the ends of the jeans, ok more like I saw it on JBrands’ new jeans and totally fell in love, so I got my talented sister to do a little DIY for me.  I think it turned out so well and really breathed new life back in to my jeans!

breakfast and road trip

breakfast3 breakfast1 breakfast2 breakfast4 breakfast6 breakfast7Photo Feb 21, 12 11 03 PMIt’s always so exciting to make the drive down to LA even though I’m usually asleep most of the way.  I’m a horrible passenger.  However, those moments that I am awake, I try to scramble for some photo opportunities.  I really should try to stay awake more.

Lately I’ve been obsessing over chambray shirts and settled on this JCrew version.  I love the preppy fit of it and it will be perfect for layering but now I want another one that has more of an oversized fit.  I have a feeling that the hunt for the perfect denim shirt may be just as elusive as finding that perfect white shirt.
